HDP / WPC Stage Announcement for DESERTFEST 2014

We’re completely drunk with pride to officially announce both our involvement for the third year running with DesertFest, London’s behemoth of a heavy smoke music festival, as well as to give you  the bulk of the lineup for the stage that we have co-curated with our South London compadres When Planet’s Collide.

Last year’s event exceeded our expectations and The Underworld rang out with the sound of mind crushing doom from start to finish on the HDP / WPC Sunday. For 2014 we aim to do it all over again, this year focusing in on both the nastiest, most woe driven sludge filth, as well as other worldy heavy as a mountain, psyched up doom. So without further ado we’re proud to announce that joining us in the hallowed cave of The Underworld for 2014 will be :

Indesinence headline crushing bill

Human_Disease_Promo is once again teaming up with Seven Churches promotions to bring a crushingly heavy evening of scathing death-doom / sludge to Camden's Black Heart on Sunday 24th November. Headlining on the night will be the wall of death-doom noise created by INDESINENCE, and they will be joined by the horrifically heavy COLTSBLOOD and down-right spiteful sounds of CRYPT LURKER.

Zoltan "Psychomania" EP Release Show

Human_Disease_Promo are proud to team up once again with Seven Churches to bring an evening of live heavy synth based sounds from the mighty ZOLTAN, as they release their new EP Psychomania -  a tribute to the John Cameron penned score of the original 1970'S movie. The event is to take place at Camden's Black Heart on Friday 27th Septemeber, and you can expect movie visuals to accompany vintage moogs with pounding drums, as well as a support slot from fellow snyth proggers Cremator. Not only that but we also have pysch dj's before / after the show, and best of all it's absolutley FREE!

Conan To Headline Monolithically Heavy Bill

Human_Disease_Promo is proud to announce in collaboration with Seven Churches a titanically heavy lineup at The Black Heart, Camden this October. Headliners come in the form of the three headed beast of ultimate crushing doom that is Conan.  Also on the lineup are South London's riff heavy trio, thee mighty Slabdragger and Midlands based filthy sludged out doom merchants Opium Lord. Completing the insanely intense bill will be openers Bismuth who are bringing down from Nottingham their slow and low rumblings of darkened drone. Astrohenge London Headline Show

Iron Witch / Dead Existence

Human_Disease_Promo is proud to put out the first date of the IRON WITCH / DEAD EXISTENCE Euro mini tour in September.  The 2 flithy sludge outfits will co-healine the Black Heart on Wednesday 18/09/13 with support from Brighton's doom punk ragers WAR WOLF and South London sludgey necro-crust duo SLOW PLAGUE. Both Iron Witch and Dead Existence have been at the forefront of a thriving uderground heavy music scene in the UK for a fair whikle now, and this will be the only UK date of their combined tour which sees them playing at Incubate Festival in Holland as well as other shows in Germany and the Benelux region. Entry is only a fiver so head down and support these two bands as they prepare to lay waste to European soil..!

SPIDER KITTEN / GURT show

Human_Disease_Promo is proud to present an intimate showcase of some of the best heavy bands in the UK at the Black Heart, Camden on Saturday 27th July 2013.
Headlining the show are Welsh grunge-doom crushers SPIDER KITTEN and London filth-sludge aficionados GURT. Support comes from Midlands noise-doom destroyers GRIMPEN MIRE and London/Brighton sludge-core wreckers TORPOR.  Entry is only a fiver with a flyer which can be printed from below. MONARCH! / UNDERSMILE to crush London - March 20th

H_D-P are proud to announce the return of Monarch! to London's Black Heart on 20th March 2013. The French band (occasionally ft American drummer Rob Schaffer of Dark Castle) are coming to London as part of a UK / Euro mini tour on the back of 2012's album Omens.
We're also pleased to also announce special guests on the show, Undersmile. Following the amazing response to Last year's Narwahl the Whitney quartet are due to release a spilt with their own Coma Wall any time soon and have been playing tracks from this release live over the last month or so. We can assure you that they are heavier than the sun itself!
Opening the show we have the ever transforming London drone / dark noise duo S&M.  Formerly known as Sunday Mourning, the two-piece of Sanna Charles and Mark Wagner (both also contributors of Moon Ra / Moonn o)))) create slow, atmospheric, trance-inducing pieces of swallowing horror-ambiance, and will be sure to be heavily influenced by the coinciding of the equinox that this date falls upon.

SEA BASTARD to rise for DesertFest

We're chuffed to announce the gargantun beast that is Sea Bastard will be opening the HDP/WPC Stage at DesertFest 2013.  As filthy and heavy as could be wished for, the south coast 4-piece will make certain that Sunday at the fest opens with a mighty blood-curdling roar of monstrous riifs and tones from the deepest darkest depths.

Rare TONER LOW performance for Desertfest

We're incredibly happy to announce TONER LOW, Holland's mighty bearers of super-heavy stoner-psych riffs, who are set to destroy the HDP/WPC stage at Desertfest this year.
With an intensely amped slab of space-drone riff-ery, reminiscent in places of everything from the ambiences maintained on certain Om / Sleep records, through to the more crushing drone-doom orientation of bands like Monarch! and Pombagira, the band have followed a steady path to reach the overwhelming heaviness that they now radiate with ease. With a new album expected in a few months time Toner Low will be one not to miss at The Underworld on the final day of the festival as they return to the UK for only the second time in their 15 year history.

HONKY

Pinkus of Butthole Surfers, these good ole Texan boys bring dirty dimebag boogie blues, the finest southern sleaze straight outa the musical oasis that is Austin. HDP / WPC Welcome COUGH to DesertFest

We're completely stoked to announce the return to London of Richmond, Virginia's purveyors of ultimate doom-filth, the mighty COUGH, for the HDP/WPC stage at DesertFest this year.

Cough smashed into worldwide acclaim within doom / sludge circles with the crushing 2008 début album Sigillum Luciferi, followed in 2010 with the fully engulfing psyche-sludge of Ritual Abuse (available on Relapse Records) and a split with the UK's own doom titans The Wounded Kings. Encompassing monolithically pounding, horror-raising, weed-tuned riffs and vocals stylings ranging from classic occult doom to downright demonic, blackened screams of desperation, the band have proven they are a force to be reckoned with both in this realm and beyond.

Following their H_D_P promoted London show at the Unicorn last year we can say that Cough will most definitely be a must for any devotees of the heaviest tone with their appearance at The Underworld at DesertFest 2013 !

We're happy to announce the addition of WITCH MOUNTAIN (Portland, Oregon,USA) to the HDP / WPC Stage at DesertFest London on Sunday 28th April 2013.
With a trad-doom metal sound meeting powerfully heavy riffs, and layered with searing melodic vocals the bands latest offering Cauldron Of The Wild (out now on Profound Lore) has cemented them as one of the most anticipated acts to be seen live in Europe this year.. We're chuffed to welcome them to our stage at DesertFest 2013!
